First week back at work - Monday Muffins were back to sweeten the day, too. The Chook's Nook is planning to reopen first thing next week - exciting times! There still seems to be plenty of enthusiasm and interest, which makes me just so very happy!
I'm currently working on "spreading the word" a little, and am hoping to secure some more "internal" crafters. I am also exploring the possibility of hosting some "visiting artists" (SPOILER: I have approached my top pick today, and am hoping for some hearty goodness in February).
I've been lucky to meet some very brilliant and talented people here in Hamilton, and maybe they would like to have a basket and piggy bank at The Chook's Nook, too, for a month or even just a week. It would certainly provide more variety in The Nook, and also introduce Hamilton's creatives to my colleagues in the tearoom. At the end of the day, one of the main ideas of The Chook's Nook is to support local artists and showcase their talents, and hopefully even get commissioned work... but it is tricky, because I do have to ensure not to step on anyone's toes at work; some may not like the idea of "externals" in The Nook.
Finger's crossed there will be smiles all round... I certainly can't stop grinning from ear to ear, and am looking forward to what goodies 2013 will bring!
